What is CBD?

12-28-18 / Kyle Turnblazer

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is one of many compounds found within cannabis and hemp plants. The molecules that these compounds belong to are called cannabinoids, and these can have certain effects on the body. Unlike other compounds, like THC, CBD stimulates the body’s natural cannabinoid receptors to help the nervous system, immune system, glands, and organs. This helps to maintain optimum body function and overall mental health.

Which CBD product is best for me?

There’s so many CBD products out there today. Some products have a broader spectrum of compounds such as normal hemp oils. The CBD I’ll be referring to is CBD Isolate. That’s where the pure CBD compound is extracted from the plant and refined into the most potent form. After that it’s ready to be made into your favorite product.

There are a few different delivery methods to get your CBD to work best for you. We’ll cover a few of those and explain why you might want to narrow down your options to a specific product or two to best suit your needs.

Oral

The oral delivery method is a very efficient way to get full body, internal effects. Using the dropper and holding the CBD isolate oil under the tongue is the method I use most. This allows the CBD to absorb through the mucous membranes in your mouth and get straight into the bloodstream, allowing you to feel the effects much sooner than with other methods.

This method helps keep your body in balance and also helps to promote a healthy mental state. My wife and i love the way it helps with our anxiety. It’s no surprise that a workaholic and a stay at home unschooling mom prefer this method.

Ingestion

This is a good method for long lasting, internal relief. It will take longer to feel the effects this way, because it has to go through the process of digestion. However, the effect should be longer and well balanced.

Many companies sell different ingestion products. The capsules are a convenient way to keep take CBD on the go. There are also gummies on the market. And yes, they’re safe for adults and children alike.

Inhalation

There are CBD vape products that allow you to bypass the ingestion process, much like the “under the tongue” method, and get straight into the bloodstream. These are nice for a quicker effect, and they’re super convenient for those of us that already have the vape gear.

Topical

Topical applications are exactly what they sound like, topical creams. These products can be an enormous help with joint pain, inflammation, sore muscles, and even dry skin. You’ll be able to target the problem areas more accurately with a topical application.

Rectal

Well, it’s exactly what you’re thinking. They even make CBD suppositories. This may not be my first pick, but it’s effective and fast. This method works great for digestive discomfort, and it even helps menstrual pain.

With so many different (and somewhat creative) ways to use CBD products it’s getting much easier to find the one that’s a good fit for what ails you. Some companies even give you the option of choosing how potent your favorite product should be. Myself, I use the 2,500mg isolate dropper (100% organic & blended in coconut oil) for the best overall effect.

Is CBD Legal?

President Trump recently signed the farm bill into law that takes hemp and CBD off of the controlled substance list. Hemp is legal again, and this is huge news, not only for the industry, but for the consumer as well.

The only hurdle in the way now is to see what the FDA will say about it in the coming weeks. What they’ll be looking for is how to move forward in regulating CBD in things like beer, food, and sodas. They’ve also expressed concern with companies making false medical claims. Remember the caricature of the “Snake Oil Salesman”?

Overall, I’m taking this as a win. The market has already been flooded with proof that CBD is one of the most beneficial substances that we’ve seen since penicillin. And no, Mr. FDA man, that isn’t a “false medical claim”. It’s a simple observation. With many companies shipping CBD products to almost all 50 states in the us and an ABSOLUTE ZERO chance that anyone taking CBD isolate will fail a drug test, I’d say you have nothing to fear. Some companies like Infinite CBD even make it easy for you by showing you a map of exactly where they ship to. Sorry Louisiana.

Absolutely! Setting aside some of the most fantastic claims I’ve heard about it, CBD isolate is the perfect supplement to set your body’s natural endocannabinoid system in balance and help with relief from things like inflammation, sore muscles, joint pain, digestion issues, and much, much more.

It’s not a miracle drug. Like I covered earlier in this article, it helps to trigger your own body’s systems to work better, when you need it, where you need it. It’s your own body that is naturally doing all the work. The CBD is just triggering the right receptors, and reminding them that they have a job to do.

I love it. I’m sure you’ll love it too. If you’re looking to just try it out, I recommend ordering the dropper in a small dose. It’s a cheap and easy way to see for yourself if it’s worth the investment.

I’ve found that the best place to get the pure isolate products from is Infinite CBD. These guys aren’t out to overcharge for an inferior product like others I’ve seen. Infinite is here for the long haul. They have tons of different products with the best quality at the best prices. Even their free shipping is super quick. Use the Infinite CBD links in this article and get 10% off your entire purchase.
